Birth Doula Support across The Wirral and Cheshire
Calm, continuous support for you and your partner at home or hospital
What does a birth doula actually do?
From our first antenatal session to meeting your baby, I provide calm, consistent support.
I help you understand your options clearly, prepare for decisions in advance, and stay steady if plans change. During labour, I offer practical comfort, calm reassurance, and clear communication, so you don’t feel rushed, confused, or alone. My job is to protect your space and help you stay focused on birthing your baby.
“I highly recommend Jemma as a doula for every stage of pregnancy, birth and postpartum. She will forever remain such a special person in our journey as a family.”
“Jemma advocated for us when it was difficult to use our voices and she was an incredibly calming presence during labour.”
“Jemma is such a warm-hearted and caring person, she is knowledgeable, understanding and encouraging and she empowered us to approach birth with excitement and confidence.”

Jemma was unwavering and calm, and helped my husband to catch our baby as I birthed her in our spare bedroom. It was magical and very healing after my first birth, and I would recommend Jemma a million times over.
Doulas are for partners too
There can be a lot of pressure on partners during birth. You’re expected to stay calm, know what to say, remember the birth plan, advocate clearly, and somehow get it all right, often without any real preparation.
My role isn’t to replace you. It’s to support you too.
I can help you understand what’s happening, suggest practical ways to comfort and reassure, and quietly guide when things feel intense. That way, you can focus on being present with the person you love and are not left trying to manage everything alone.
Birth works best as a team. I want you to be front and centre.
Two packages of care…
Signature Birth Support
This package gives us time to build a real relationship during your pregnancy. You and your partner will have generous one to one preparation, tailored to your needs rather than following a template.
You will receive a full private hypnobirthing programme woven into your antenatal care, alongside practical birth planning, honest conversations and thoughtful guidance as your due date approaches.
If hypnobirthing does not feel like the right fit for you, we will use that time for deeper antenatal preparation tailored entirely to your circumstances. That might include exploring previous birth experiences, planning for induction or caesarean, strengthening partner confidence, or preparing practically and emotionally for postpartum. The focus is always on what will serve you best.
When labour begins, I join you in person and remain by your side. I offer steady physical and emotional support, guide your partner so they feel confident and capable, and help protect the space around you so you can focus on birthing your baby.
Afterwards, I visit you at home to help you process your experience and support you as you settle into the early days.
This package is well suited to second time parents, repeat clients, or families who value preparation and continuity.

Ultimate Wraparound Care
This package offers continuity from pregnancy through the early weeks after your baby arrives.
We spend lots of time preparing you and your partner with tailored antenatal sessions, full hypnobirthing if desired, detailed birth and postpartum planning, and guidance through appointments and decisions.
There is time here to go deeper, especially if you are healing from a previous experience or navigating something complex. There will be space within our antenatal sessions to strengthen your nervous system, reduce fear responses, and build a sense of safety in your body before labour begins.
Every family’s preparation looks different. The structure remains generous and personalised, whether that includes a full hypnobirthing programme or deeper tailored antenatal work based on your previous experience.
When labour begins, I join you in person and remain throughout. I provide practical and emotional support, help your partner feel involved and cared for, and keep communication calm and focused.
After birth, my support continues in your home and vitrually. You will receive extended postnatal care, feeding guidance, space to debrief your experience, and ongoing check ins during the early weeks. You won’t be left trying to figure everything out on your own.
This package is for families who want continuity and reassurance not only on the day of birth, but in the transition into parenthood.
