Antenatal Preparation

Hypnobirthing

Learn practical tools to work with your body, calm your nervous system, and approach birth with confidence instead of fear.

Hypnobirthing isn't about guaranteeing a pain-free birth or making you feel like you've failed if things don't go to plan. It's about understanding how your body works, learning practical techniques to support yourself through labour, and preparing your partner to be genuinely helpful rather than helpless.

You'll learn breathing techniques, relaxation methods, positions that help labour progress, and how to make informed decisions when choices arise. Your partner will learn how to support you practically, advocate for your preferences, and stay calm when things feel intense.

Understanding Birth

How your body works during labour, what helps labour progress, and what can slow it down.

Doulas Are For Partners Too

There can be a lot of pressure on partners during birth. You're expected to stay calm, know what to say, remember the birth plan, advocate clearly, and somehow get it all right, often without any real preparation.

My role isn't to replace you. It's to support you too. I can help you understand what's happening, suggest practical ways to comfort and reassure, and quietly guide when things feel intense. That way, you can focus on being present with the person you love and are not left trying to manage everything alone.

Birth works best as a team. I want you to be front and centre.

"Jemma was unwavering and calm, and helped my husband to catch our baby as I birthed her in our spare bedroom. It was magical and very healing after my first birth, and I would recommend Jemma a million times over."
Kylie, home birth

Fourth Trimester Care

Postpartum Support

Gentle, practical support as you find your feet in the early days and weeks after birth, holding you while you hold your baby.

Postpartum support is about holding you in whatever way you need. The early days with a newborn can feel overwhelming, isolating, and exhausting. You're healing physically, navigating feeding, processing your birth, and trying to figure out this tiny person who's just arrived.

I can help with newborn care, feeding support (breast or bottle), warm meals, and the everyday things that make early days feel easier…like keeping the laundry moving or holding your baby while you take a shower. I'm here for the big feelings and wobbly moments too, providing a Mary Poppins service for the whole family.

Feeding Support

Whether breast, bottle, or combination feeding, I provide calm, non-judgmental support to help you find what works.

Practical Help

Gentle newborn care, light meals, laundry, and the everyday tasks that pile up when you're exhausted.

Emotional Support

Space to process your birth, validate the big feelings, and remind you that you're doing better than you think.

Flexible Support

Postnatal Care Package

From £30 per hour

Tailored postnatal visits to support you in the way you need most. Book individual sessions or packages of hours.

"Having Jemma visit in those first few weeks was genuinely life-saving. She helped me with feeding, held the baby while I slept, made me lunch, and just listened when I needed to talk. I felt so much less alone."

Charlotte, Chester

"In the days after, Jemma provided breastfeeding support and general advice around all things baby. Her post birth debrief was exactly what I needed to process everything and I feel that it really enabled me to appreciate what my body had been through."
Danielle, Cheshire

Processing Your Experience

Birth Debrief

A safe, non-judgmental space to process your birth experience, whether you were my client or not, whether your birth was last week or last year.

Sometimes birth leaves you with questions, confusion, or feelings you can't quite name. Maybe you're struggling to reconcile what you planned with what happened. Maybe you feel guilty for feeling disappointed when everyone says you should just be grateful. Maybe you just need someone who truly understands birth to listen.

Birth debrief sessions offer a safe space to talk through your experience, understand what happened and why, validate your feelings, and answer the questions that are still nagging at you. This isn't therapy, it's a safe, non-judgemental space to be heard and understood by someone who gets birth from every angle.

Tell Your Story

Share your birth at your own pace, with space for all the feelings, no rush, no interruptions, just listening.

Understand What Happened

Make sense of medical decisions, procedures, and language. We can work through your notes or from memory.

Validate Your Feelings

However you're feeling, it's valid. No minimizing, no "at least the baby's healthy," just honest acknowledgment.

Birth Debrief Session

£120 for 90 minutes

In-person (Cheshire/Wirral) or online via video call. Partners welcome to join.

What Happens:

✓ Safe space to share your full birth story

✓ Help understanding medical decisions and language

✓ Validation and emotional support

✓ Answers to your lingering questions

✓ Processing tools if planning another baby

Doula supporting woman giving birth at home, positive home water birth following birth trauma and birth debrief with Jemma

"After the traumatic birth of my first baby, I carried a lot of fear and doubt. Our birth debrief was incredibly healing. You helped me see the strength I’d shown, especially while labouring at home, and gently suggested that a home birth might be something to consider if I ever had another baby.

At the time, I wasn’t sure I believed I could do that. But when I became pregnant again, something had shifted. I chose the home birth team.

Last week, our second baby arrived quickly and peacefully at home after a much easier labour. I went into it with a confidence I didn’t have before.

It was the most amazing and deeply healing experience. After such a difficult first birth, I never imagined I would feel that way about birth.

Thank you for helping me reclaim my confidence and find beauty in my birth experiences."
